Balanced Binary Tree
Given a binary tree, determine if it is height-balanced.
For this problem, a height-balanced binary tree is defined as a binary tree in which the depth of the two subtrees of every node never differ by more than 1.
Solution
/**
* Definition for a binary tree node.
* public class TreeNode {
* int val;
* TreeNode left;
* TreeNode right;
* TreeNode(int x) { val = x; }
* }
*/
public class Solution {
public boolean isBalanced(TreeNode root) {
int height = height(root);
if (height == -1) return false;
return true;
}
public int height(TreeNode node) {
if (node == null) return 0;
int left = height(node.left);
int right = height(node.right);
if (left == -1 || right == -1)
return -1;
if (Math.abs(left - right) > 1) {
return -1;
}
return Math.max(left, right) + 1;
}
}
